Full Safari Itinerary for 8 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit safari 

DAY 1: Kilimanjaro Airport – Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Upon arrival, you’ll be picked up by your guide who then drives you to Arusha Town where your booked accommodation is located. The drive is about 45 minutes from the Airport. Check in at the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park 

After some shopping in Arusha, we drive to Tarangire National Park. After a two hour drive, we arrive at the park and proceed to the booked safari lodge. Check in at the lodge. Enjoy lunch at the lodge before embarking on your first adventure on this 8 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit safari. After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive for opportunities to witness different wildlife species including lions, elephants, wildebeest, eland, zebra, hartebeest, Oryx, and many more. Later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 3: Morning Game Drive & transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

Early morning game drive in Tarangire National Park. Afterwards, we drive to Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife area, consisting of a shallow but huge soda lake, at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions. Arrive in Lake Manyara and enjoy an en route game viewing experience as you drive to your booked safari lodge. Arrive at the lodge and check in.

In the afternoon, embark on an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park for opportunities to witness different wildlife that live in the park. There are plenty of species here, including giraffes, lions, wildebeest, warthogs, zebras, hippos, leopards, elephants, hyenas, and several bird species. Later after the adventure, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 4: Transfer to Serengeti National Park 

After breakfast, we depart Lake Manyara National Park for Serengeti National Park. We drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands towards the Ngorongoro Conservation area, with spectacular Crater view, on the way to the endless plains of the Serengeti. On this day, it is possible to visit a Maasai Boma (kraal) to get more familiar with their daily life activities (optional).

Serengeti is famous for the big migration and chances of seeing the big 5 and other game. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at the lodge and enjoy a relaxation stay as you prepare for your full day adventure in Serengeti the next morning.

DAY 5: Full Day Adventure in Serengeti (Seronera)

Early morning game drive in Ndutu and transfer through the Serengeti to the Seronera Area, which is in the Central Serengeti. Seronera has much water all year round, and many animals. Wildlife sightseeing experience in Serengeti is unrivalled as you’ll enjoy viewing different wildlife species, including the iconic African Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephant), and the spectacular wildebeest migration. Enjoy discovering the Serengeti plains as you also follow the migration routes for opportunities to see large herds of mammal grazers. Seronera is also home to a permanent population of hippos.

Later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 6: Morning game drive & transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

Early Morning game drive in the Seronera. Here we to catch up with the African wild sunrise with active animals in the morning, like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Before we leave Seronera, we can make a stop in the Serengeti Migration Centre and Olduvai Gorge (a famous and interesting place where our ancestors have been found). Transfer to the Ngorongoro Crater, game drive en route.

The Ngorongoro Crater has one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa. Here you will witness an amazing spectacle of African wildlife, inside a self-contained world teeming with animals, with very good chances of seeing the Big 5.

DAY 7: full day adventure in Ngorongoro Crater

Following an early morning breakfast at the lodge, descend into the crater floor with your packed lunch boxes for a full day wildlife viewing experience. There are high chances of seeing THE BIG FIVE (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, & elephant) on the crater floor. The Crater floor also hosts one of the largest lion population, guaranteeing their sighting during your full day adventure.  The crater also includes a spectacular Soda lake with flamingos. Afternoon lunch at Hippo Pool Picnic site is an unforgettable experience. In the afternoon, we leave the crater and drive to our lodge.
