Detailed 7 Days Gorillas and Masai Mara Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

At around 5:30am, your safari driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to start your 7 Days Gorillas and Masai Mara Safari. This long journey to the southwestern part of Uganda takes about 8 to 9 hour. You’ll drive through the stunning countryside as you pass different towns, witnessing natural sceneries and beauty of Uganda that give it its bragging rights as the pearl of Arica. Lunch will be enjoyed enroute. Arrive at Bwindi in the late afternoon and proceed to your lodge.

Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla trekking and community Tour

Following an early morning breakfast at your lodge, depart for the park headquarters. Join other visitors for a gorilla trekking briefing, you’ll be given all the necessary information about gorilla trekking; the dos and don’ts regarding your gorilla trekking. After briefing session, you’ll be allocated a gorilla family to trek.

Its time to delve into the jungle to search for the endangered gorillas in their natural habitat. Although the trek is really challenging, you are guaranteed of finally locating the gorillas in their natural habitat and this will simply make you forget the hustle you went through to get to them. After locating the gorillas, you will spend about one full hour thrilled and observing the gorillas, there are plenty of opportunities to take photos and film for memories.

Later after trekking, return to the park headquarters from where you proceed to your lodge for relaxation and if you wish you can go for a community visit or cultural tour to find out how the locals live and to enjoy cultural performances.

Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe Town

Enjoy breakfast at your lodge before traveling back to Entebbe Town. Enjoy the beautiful views of the pearl one more time as you drive back to Entebbe from where you’ll continue with a transfer to Kenya for your next part of this incredible tour.

Day 4: Fly to Kenya and transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya

After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight to Kenya. Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where our Kenyan representatives will welcome you into Kenya. You’ll then embark on a transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve is about 4 hours through the scenic countryside. You’ll pass through the stunning and scenic Great Rift Valley with a brief stopover to admire the breathtaking views and optional shopping at the curio shops.

Continue with your drive, making another brief stop at Narok Town for refreshments and to use the restrooms before proceeding to Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at the lodge in the afternoon and check-in.

Spend the rest of your day at leisure, enjoying the facilities the lodge has to offer before heading out for a thrilling introductory game drive in the Magnificent Masai Mara National Reserve. After this introductory game drive, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Full Day Safari Viewing in Masai Mara

After a morning breakfast, depart the lodge with your packed lunch boxes for a full-day game-viewing safari in Masai Mara National Reserve. You’ll explore the Mara plains for opportunities to witness wildlife and birdlife. Expect to encounter the African Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephants) giraffes, hyenas, cheetahs, and wildebeests among others.

Visit various wildlife hotspots in the park. As it near lunch time, take a break for a picnic lunch at a scenic and safe spot. After lunch, continue with your safari in the park. Later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
