Full Safari Itinerary
Day 1: – Arrive in Kigali & City Tour
Upon Arrival at Kigali, you’ll be welcomed by your tour guide and transferred to your booked accommodation in Kigali City. Check in at the hotel, afterwards go for a Kigali city tour visiting different places before returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Overnight at Golf Hills Residence Hotel

Day 2: – Ntarama and Nyamata Genocide Memorial and transfer to Akagera National Park:
Enjoy an early morning breakfast at the lodge and then embark on a transfer to Ntarama and Nyamata, where you’ll visit the genocide memorial and the reconciliation village. You’ll learn more about the tragic past of Rwanda before proceeding with a transfer to Akagera National Park for your next adventure on this 28 Rwanda and Uganda adventure.
Upon arrival at the park, you’ll go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema for an opportunity to witness different birdlife and wildlife. Later, proceed to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: – Akagera National Park:
Early breakfast at 5:30 am, then go for a game driveand bird watching. Akagera National Park is the only place where you can witness the savanna wildlife species in Rwanda, including the iconic African Big Five (Lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephant). After witnessing different wildlife on your game drive, go for a Pastoralist heritage experience. Later, drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: – Nyanza, Butare, and Nyungwe Forest:
Transfer to Butare – visit the Cathedral of Kabgayi and many other historical sites on the route to Nyungwe; visit the ancient King’s palace at Nyanza and the National Museum. Visit the women drumming group at the National University of Rwanda and continue to Nyungwe Forest. Overnight at Gisakura Guest House in Nyungwe Forest.

Day 5: – Nyungwe National Park
Wake up early for breakfast at 4:30 am, then proceed with chimp trekking in the morning. The chimpanzees are the major highlight os Nyungwe National Park and during the trek, you’ll enjoy the scenic views of the forest, birdlife, and stunning vegetation. After the trek, you’ll return to the lodge and enjouy a refreshing meal and a short rest. After lunch, you can visit the tea plantation in the afternoon. Optional: Visit the market. Overnight at Hotel du Lac.

Day 6: – Kibuye and Lake Kivu:
Transfer to Kibuye; en route visit Bisesero genocide memorial, Kibuye church, and Nyange school where students were massacred after refusing to divide themselves based on ethnic backgrounds. Afternoon, go for a boat tour on Lake Kivu to view thousands of bats covering the clouds of Amahoro Island, the Island of Peace. Overnight at Bethane hotel in Kibuye.

Day 7: – Gisenyi and Lake Kivu:
Transfer to Ruhengeri via Gisenyi – en route visit the fishing village, hot springs, visit DRC-Rwanda border (Gisenyi town), and relax at the lakeside. Continue the drive to Ruhengeri; on arrival, check in at the Gorillas Hotel or St. Anne Hotel.

Day 8: – RUHENGERI – Volcanoes National Park
Wake up in the morning, enjoy breakfast, and then transfer to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a gorilla trekking experience. Start preparations for gorilla trekking; visit one of the gorilla families in the park. Some families take approximately 3 hours, and others take 5-8 hours; you have the right to choose which group you want to trek with; we will give you advice on that. After gorilla trekking, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Overnight at St. Anne Hotel.

Day 9: Transfer to Uganda via Kisoro; check in at Mgahinga Lodge.
Wake up and enjoy an early morning breakfast at the lodge. After Breakfast, start your journey to Uganda, where your next adventure will be waiting. This journey takes you through the scenic parts of both Rwanda and Uganda. Arrive in the late afternoon and drive to your booked safari lodge. Arrive at the lodge, check in and refresh and rest, waiting next day’s hiking of Mgahinga volcano.

Day 10: Hike Mugahinga Mountain
Wake up and enjoy breakfast at the lodge. Depart the lodge with your packed lunch and embark on a hike to the Mugahinga Mountain with your packed lunch. You’ll spend your day taking in this challenging adventure, and later on, after the hike, you’ll return to the lodge.

Day 11: Leave for Lake Bunyonyi
Today, following an early morning breakfast, depart the lodge and drive to Lake Bunyonyi, where your next adventure awaits. Lake Bunyonyi is renowned for its remarkable scenery and diverse activities like canoeing and kayaking that are adrenaline-pumping. Arrive at Lake Bunyonyi and check in at the lodge. Spend the rest of your day unwinding by your lodge.

Day 12: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable N.P.
Following an early morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on a journey to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the famoun=s Mountain gorillas for your next adventure on this 28 Days Rwanda – Uganda Culture & Wildlife Tour. Arrive in Bwindi and proceed to your booked safari lodge. Check in at the lodge.

Day 13: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early morning Breakfast at the lodge, head to the park headquarters to join other visitors for a mountain Gorilla Trekking experience. The gorilla trekking experience will last for about 2 – 6 hours, depending on the location of your gorilla family. Later, return to the lodge for a refreshing meal and relaxation.

Day 14: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
After your breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park via Mbarara on any route. Lunch in Agip Motel and an overnight at Mantana Tented Camp.

Day 15: Exploring Lake Mburo National Park
Early morning, have a game drive and in the afternoon, have a boat ride at Lake Mburo. Lake Mburo National Park is home to different wildlife species including zebras, antelopes, buffaloes, and warthogs, among others. After your afternoon game drive, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 16: Exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park
Enjoy an early morning breakfast, then go for an early game drive in search of the lions, elephants, among other animals. There is plenty of wildlife in the park and you are guaranteed to spot most of them. Later in the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon.

Day 17: Chimpanzee Tracking in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your breakfast, proceed to Chambura Gorge, where you’ll be able to see the stunning primates in their natural habitat. after the trek, you’ll return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 18: Drive to Kibale National Park
Following an early morning breakfast at the lodge, check out and start your journey to Kibale Forest National Park, also sometimes refered to at the Primate capital of Africa. en route to Fort Portal town for lunch.

Day 19: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park
After your early breakfast, briefings from the Park authority, then depart through Kibale Forest for Chimpanzee trekking. After the trek, return to the lodge where you get to enjoy a refreshing meal. Check out and drive to Kasese Town at Mgharita Hotel.

Day 20: Drive to Rwenzori Mountains National Park & Hike
Leave Kasese, heading to the Rwenzori Mountain National Park. Take a short hike on the mountain, then return in the evening to Magharita Hotel for an overnight.

Day 21: Drive toMurchison Falls National Park
Following an early morning breakfast, embark on a transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, one of the popular tourist destinations in Uganda. You will drive via Budongo Forest where you enjoy a picnic lunch. Proceed with a drive in the park where your safari lodge is located.

Day 22: Game drive in Murchison Falls National Park
Early in the morning, enjoy an early morning breakfast before derparting for a thrilling game viewing adventure in the Park. Murchison Fall National Park is onbe of the best wildlife viewing destinations in Uganda. This National Park is home to ovor 80 different wildlife species including lions, leopards, cheetah, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, hyenas, and several antelope species among others.

Day 23: Morning Game drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise
Start your daye with breakfast at the lodge before embarking on a morning game drive to look out for wildlife in the park. After the incredible wildlife sightseeing experience, return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch go for an afternoon boat cruise to the botom of the falls.

Day 24: Drive to Kidepo Valley National Park.
Wake and enjoy breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, embark on a long journet to the hidden Kidepo Valle National Park in North Eastern Uganda. Arive at the lodge and drive to your booked safari lodge.

Day 25: Exploring Kidepo Valley National Park
Start your day with an early morning breakfast, after breakfast, embark on early morning game drive searching for wildlife that roam these vast plains. Kidepo is one of the most wildlife concetraded habitats in Africa, popular for its large herds of elephants and Bufallos. Return to the lodge for lunch and later head for a community experience in the local villages.

Day 26: Depart from Kidepo to Kampala via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast, start your long journey back to Kampala via the only rhino tracking area in Uganda – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Day 27: Relax in Kampala; City tour, & shopping.

Day 28: Transfer to Entebbe Airport.
