Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is Uganda’s smallest yet most stunning national park in Uganda. Sometimes referred to as a place where silver meets Gold, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is a great gorilla trekking destination, located in southwestern Uganda along the borders with Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This National Park is part of the larger Virunga Conservation Area, that stretches across Rwanda, D.R Congo and Uganda. The other National Parks located in the Virunga Area Include; Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Virunga National Park in D.R Congo. Mgahinga is another top alternative destinations for gorilla trekking in Uganda besides the famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The Park is home to the Nyakagezi Gorilla Family which can be trekked each Day.
The park protects the Ugandan slopes of three spectacular volcanic peaks—Mount Muhabura, Mount Gahinga, and Mount Sabinyo—which form a stunning backdrop for wildlife adventures. Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park involves guided hikes through bamboo forests and montane vegetation to track the habituated Nyakagezi gorilla family. The park can be reached by road through Kabale and Kisoro 510km to Kampala.

Hotels in Kisoro and Kabale. There is also a mountain camp for climbers in the saddle between Muhavura and Mgahinga.
