Day 2: Lake Manyara & Transfer to Manyara National Park
After breakfast, we will depart for Lake Manyara for an exciting biking adventure. Along the way to this stunning soda lake, you may encounter wildlife such as zebras, gazelles, and wildebeests. Lake Manyara is also renowned for its flamingos and a wide variety of water birds.
Next, we will cycle through Mto Wa Mbu village, located just five minutes from the Lake Manyara National Park entrance. The ride will lead us to a unique spot where we will enjoy a hot local lunch, featuring a variety of traditional dishes
After lunch, we will head into Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing. The park remains lush and green throughout the year due to its underground water sources, attracting numerous migratory and wetland birds overhead. Its shallow alkaline-saline (soda) lake provides an ideal habitat for microorganisms, which in turn draw large populations of flamingos.
The park is also home to a wide array of wildlife, including baboons, velvet monkeys, blue monkeys, tree-climbing lions, hippos, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, impalas, Thomson’s gazelles, and Grant’s gazelles. Additionally, elusive species such as leopards, cheetahs, rock and tree hyraxes, kudus, elands, bushbucks, waterbucks, and dik-diks inhabit the park, making it a diverse and remarkable wildlife destination. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 3: Karatu – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we will journey to the endless plains of the Serengeti, passing through the lush highlands of Ngorongoro Crater. The name “Serengeti” originates from the Maasai word siringitu, which means “endless plains”, and you will quickly understand why as you behold the vast grassland savannah stretching to the horizon. Some areas are also adorned with Acacia woodlands, dense forested hills, rocky outcrops known as kopjes, and seasonal pans and lakes.
The Serengeti’s incredible wildlife diversity is what makes it one of the most sought-after safari destinations in Africa. You may encounter lions, buffaloes, impalas, hippos, waterbucks, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and a wide range of other animals, as well as over 400 species of birds.
Upon arrival in the Serengeti, we will embark on an afternoon game drive to spot wildlife, before continuing to our camp in the evening for leisure time and a hot dinner.
Day 4: Following the Great Migration
After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a morning game drive across the central Serengeti plains. Later, continue northward to the Northern Serengeti, following the Great Migration along the Mara River.
During the dry season, herds gather along both banks of the Mara River, often crossing the crocodile-filled waters in response to local weather patterns that only they instinctively follow. The river crossings are not a single event, but occur repeatedly throughout the dry season. Herds of varying sizes—from a few hundred to tens of thousands—move across the river in both directions between July and October, following the rainfall and the fresh grazing it brings.
Day 5: Northern Serengeti – Unlimited Kilometers of game drive
Spend a full day on a game drive in the Northern Serengeti, with a focus on observing the Mara River crossings and the Great Migration.
Day 6: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for your final game drive in the Serengeti. Following lunch, we will head towards the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon reaching the crater rim, you will be treated to a breathtaking view of the crater lying half a mile below, an awe-inspiring natural wonder. From the edge, take in the 100-square-mile expanse, a truly remarkable sight. Later, we will continue to the lodge for evening relaxation and a hot dinner.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, we will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend into the crater floor for a half-day of game viewing. The Ngorongoro Crater, formed three million years ago, is the world’s largest volcanic caldera and is recognized as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World as well as one of Africa’s most remarkable geological sites. Here, you can see the Big Five( rhinos, elephants, Cape buffalo, lions, and leopards) zebras, hippos, wildebeest, and cheetahs, among others. The crater’s unique ecosystem sustains a historic balance between people and nature that is unmatched in other parks.
Day 8: Tarangire National Park – Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) & transfer by flight to Kigali International Airport
After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel for a 2-hour scenic drive southwest to Tarangire National Park. This park is home to the highest concentration of elephants in northern Tanzania, with herds that can number up to 3,000, visible throughout the year. The Tarangire River flows year-round, attracting wildlife from the surrounding areas, especially during the dry season (July–October), when many animals gather to drink.
Visiting during the dry season offers the chance to witness an extraordinary natural spectacle, with big mammals such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, and various antelopes including gazelles. Tarangire is also a paradise for birdwatchers at this time, hosting over 550 bird species, including the Maasai Ostrich, the world’s largest bird.
In the afternoon, you’ll transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your flight to Kigali, Rwanda.
Day 9: Kigali city tour & transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, begin a Kigali city tour, exploring the city’s scenic landscapes, including architecturally inspired buildings and vibrant markets featuring local art and crafts. The tour also includes a visit to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial, offering insight into Rwanda’s tragic past resulting from the 1994 ethnic conflict.
After lunch, embark on the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, enjoying the stunning views of Rwanda’s rolling hills and the Kigezi highlands along the way. If traveling via the Chanica border post, you may also catch glimpses of the Virunga Mountains. Arive at Bwindi and proceed to your booked safari lodge.
Day 10: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Breakfast at the lodge is recommended before the gorilla trekking briefing, which begins at 8:00 AM. Accompanied by armed ranger guides, you will enter the Impenetrable Forest in search of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Along the way, enjoy the exciting sights and sounds of the jungle, from the melodies of birds to the lush greenery of the forest.
A truly unforgettable moment awaits as you encounter the Mountain Gorillas, observing them as they forage, interact, and socialize. The trek can last 2 to 8 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements, but the actual viewing time is limited to one hour to protect and conserve them.
After the trek, return to the park headquarter. Head to the lodge for a refreshing meal before driving to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation by the lake.
Day 11: Transfer to Kigali International Airport & depart
