Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge in Volcanoes.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking & transfer back to Kigali

Gorilla trekking in Rwanda begins at Kinigi in Volcanoes National Park. The experience starts with a traditional Intore dance performance, followed by a briefing and a hot cup of coffee. The briefing takes place at 8:00 AM, after which you proceed to the trailhead to begin your gorilla trekking adventure. The duration of the trek varies between 2 to 8 hours, depending on the gorilla group assigned and their location that day, and includes one full hour of gorilla viewing and plenty of opportunities for photography. After the trek, you will return to Kigali for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer by flight to Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro International Airport & transfer to Arusha

Transfer to Kigali International Airport & fly to Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be welcomed by our representative. You’ll then transfer to Arusha for relaxation and overnight

Day 4: Transfer to Tarangire National Park & do game drive

After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel for a 2-hour scenic drive southwest to Tarangire National Park. This park is home to the highest concentration of elephants in northern Tanzania, with herds that can number up to 3,000, and they can be seen throughout the year. The Tarangire River flows year-round, attracting wildlife from the surrounding areas, especially during the dry season (July–October). Visiting during this time allows you to witness a spectacular natural gathering of big mammals including lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, and various antelopes such as gazelles. Tarangire also becomes a paradise for bird watchers in the dry season, boasting over 550 bird species, including the Maasai Ostrich, the world’s largest bird. Around midday, you will stop for a picnic lunch, and the afternoon will be dedicated to more wildlife viewing.

Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park & afternoon game drive

After breakfast, we journey to the Serengeti’s vast plains, passing through the lush Ngorongoro Crater Highlands. The name “Serengeti” comes from the Maasai word siringitu, meaning “endless plains”, and you will immediately see why as you gaze upon its seemingly infinite grassland savannas stretching to the horizon. Some areas are also dotted with Acacia woodlands, dense hills, rocky outcrops (kopjes), pans, and lakes. The park is renowned for its abundant wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, impalas, hippos, waterbucks, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and many other species, along with over 400 bird species, making it a top safari destination.

Upon arrival in the Serengeti, we will embark on an afternoon game drive in search of wildlife, followed by a drive to the camp in the evening for leisure time and a hot dinner.

Day 6: Game drives in Central Serengeti National Park

The entire day will be spent on game viewing in the Serengeti. You can spot predators such as lions, leopards resting in the acacia trees, and cheetahs throughout this remarkable park. During the short rainy season (November–December), the herds migrate from the northern hills to the southern plains, while in the long rainy season (April–June), they return northward through the central and western areas. Since the migration is entirely influenced by annual rainfall, the herds’ exact locations may vary each year.

After a full day exploring the Serengeti central plains, you will return to your camp for evening relaxation and a hot dinner.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park & transfer to Ngorongoro Crater rim

After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for your final game drive in the Serengeti. Following the drive, we will head towards the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon reaching the crater rim, you will be treated to a breathtaking view of the crater lying half a mile below, a truly jaw-dropping natural wonder. The 100-square-mile expanse of the crater is an incredible sight to behold.

You will step out of the safari vehicle to enjoy the view and take a one-hour walking safari along the crater rim. Afterward, we will continue to Karatu for dinner.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater & transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport in the evening

After breakfast, we will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend into the crater for a half-day of game viewing. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, was formed three million years ago and is recognized as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World as well as one of Africa’s most remarkable geological sites. Here, you can see the Big Five (rhino, elephant, Cape buffalo, lion, leopard) up close, along with many other species found in the Serengeti, including zebra, hippos, wildebeest, and cheetahs. The crater’s unique ecosystem preserves a historic balance between humans and nature that is unmatched in other parks.

Depending on your flight schedule, you will then ascend from the crater and proceed to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your journey home.
