This is a 2 day Uganda Kibale Chimp Tracking trip takes you to one of the most popular primate tracking locations in Uganda, Kibale National Park. After mountain gorillas, Chimpanzees are the next most tracked primate species, and Kibale National Park boasts a large number of these stunning creatures, with up to 1,500 individuals dwelling in the Kibale Forest. Besides chimpanzees, which are the main draw here, Kibale National Park is also home to several other primates with about 12 other primates including; Black and White colobus monkeys, baboons, vervet monkeys, and the red-tailed monkey, among others.
On this 2 Day Kibale Chimp Tracking trip, you’ll have an opportunity to spot beyond chimpanzees on just a single visit. You’ll have an opportunity to spot bird species, vegetation, and several other primate species that inhabit this diverse National Park. Full Safari Itinerary for 2 Day Kibale Chimp Tracking trip
Day 1: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park
We will depart Kampala after your breakfast and head westwards to Fort Portal town. The drive will take about 4 -5 hours. We will have lunch in Fort Portal and continue to Kibale, where you will go for either a community walk or visit the beautiful Crater lakes region for a spectacular view. Dinner and overnight will be at Rweteera Safari Park/Kibale Forest Camp.
Day 2: Chimp tracking and nature walk
After breakfast, you will report at the Kanyanchu Tourist Centre at 08.00 am for a briefing before trekking with the chimps in the forest. The park is only accessible on foot, and the walk will provide you with the opportunity to also see a variety of other primates and animals, as well as birds, and a variety of butterflies, and other insects. You will have lunch and in the afternoon go set off on a return journey to Kampala, arriving late in the afternoon.
