Day 1-Kigali → Volcanoes National Park | Golden Monkey Trekking | Bwindi Forest
At first light, your East African Jungle Safaris Ltd driver-guide welcomes you in Kigali at 05:00 am. The road north rises gently into Rwanda’s volcanic heartland, arriving at Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi by 07:00 am.
After ranger briefing, the trek begins at 08:00 am, entering bamboo forests alive with birdsong and filtered mountain light. Golden monkeys appear in bursts of movement and color, feeding delicately on bamboo shoots and leaping between stalks. One full hour unfolds in their presence—playful, intimate, and unhurried.
After lunch, the journey continues toward Uganda. Border formalities complete, the road winds into the depths of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where thick jungle and cool air signal arrival in gorilla country.

Day 2 –Bwindi Gorilla Trekking → Lake Bunyonyi
Dawn breaks softly over Bwindi. After breakfast, arrive at the park headquarters for a 07:45 am briefing. Rangers assign trekking groups before you step into one of Africa’s oldest rainforests.
The forest is alive—vines, moss, towering trees, and distant calls guide your path. The trek may last several hours, but the reward is profound. When the gorillas appear, time slows. For one extraordinary hour, you observe them feeding, resting, and interacting within arm’s reach.
Leaving the forest behind, the journey continues south to Lake Bunyonyi. Rolling hills, terraced farms, and cool air lead to calm waters dotted with emerald islands. A boat ride reveals quiet shorelines and panoramic viewpoints—perfect for reflection after the day’s intensity.

Morning light reveals Lake Bunyonyi at its most serene. After breakfast, the safari transitions from forested highlands into the western Rift Valley. Volcanic ridges open into wide plains as Queen Elizabeth National Park emerges.
After lunch and rest, board a boat for a two-hour cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Hippos crowd the banks, elephants wade in shallow waters, and birds fill the air with color and movement. As evening approaches, a game drive across the savannah offers chances to spot lions, buffaloes, and antelope.
